Largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, densely and humanized a very long time, Sicily has everything and its opposite.
Extraordinary is the geographical diversity that attracts and fascinates visitors who pass within a few hours from the snow and the fire of Etna to the soft sand dunes of the coast south-eastern Europe, in western landscapes, with rugged hills overlooking the sea.
But the contrasts of nature reflect the striking contrasts of history. A long history, beginning with the Sicani and Sicilians. But the arrival of the Greeks landed at Naxos in 735 a. C, projecting the island civilization. Further, from various events, invasions and conquests.

"Center" at some time (just think about the importance of Syracuse in ancient Greek), "brand" the border in some other (Arab-Islamic rule), land now preferred (Frederick II), now neglected (age of the Spanish viceroys ), this region retains its age-old monuments and varied traces of its long and troubled history.
The succession of so many rulers and civilizations (Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Swabians, Angevin, Aragonese, Spaniards, Bourbons) has transformed the island into a fascinating palimpsest, a remarkable synthesis of art and history that feeds monuments, but also the dialects, the customs, festivals, ways of saying and doing.
A trip to Sicily is a real journey through time and space, the opportunity to test in a short time a whole universe of experience.
One possibility that can only offer this Island.
